Nobody checks a fuel-price website for fun.
Usually, the tank is getting low, the price at the nearest forecourt looks suspiciously high, or you simply refuse to pay more than necessary when a cheaper station might be a few minutes away.
That everyday frustration is why I built Fuel Finder UK.
Seven months later, the site has reached a milestone I genuinely never expected to see this soon.
During July, Cloudflare recorded 3,884,092 page views reaching Fuel Finder UK. An independent estimate from Similarweb arrived at a remarkably similar figure of just over four million.
The figures are not a perfect count of individual people, and different analytics platforms measure traffic in different ways. What they clearly show is that Fuel Finder UK has grown from a personal idea into a service being used at a scale I could barely have imagined when I started.
It Started With an Old Campervan
Fuel Finder UK began because of Bernie, my 44-year-old VW T25 campervan.
Bernie has plenty of character, but fuel economy is not one of his strengths. Before a long journey, I would check nearby diesel prices and regularly find differences of several pence per litre between stations only a short distance apart.
Those differences add up quickly.
The more I looked, the more obvious the problem became. Drivers are often charged the most when they have the least choice. The fuel light is on, the children are tired, the motorway exit is miles away or the nearest station knows there is nowhere else nearby.
Fuel Finder UK was built to give drivers some of that control back.
The Number Matters Because Drivers Are Shopping Around
Nearly four million page views sounds impressive, but traffic for its own sake is not the point.
The important part is what sits behind it.
It represents drivers checking before filling up. It represents people comparing nearby stations instead of automatically pulling into the closest one. It represents families, commuters, delivery drivers and anyone else trying to make an expensive necessity cost a little less.
A difference of a few pence per litre might not sound dramatic, but repeated across a year of fill-ups, it becomes real money.
Price comparison also creates pressure. When drivers can easily see which stations are offering fair prices, those stations have a reason to compete for their business. Forecourts relying on convenience and a lack of information lose some of that advantage.
Every search helps make fuel pricing a little more transparent.
Still Built and Run by One Person
Fuel Finder UK is still independently built and operated by me.
There is no large development team behind it. I work on the site, maintain the data, respond to feedback and decide what gets built next.
That independence matters because it allows Fuel Finder UK to remain focused on drivers.
Fuel-price rankings are not sold to the highest bidder. A commercial partner cannot pay to appear above a cheaper station. The purpose of the search remains exactly what it was on the first day: help drivers find the most useful fuel options nearby.
Seeing a small independent service attract this level of attention in a market filled with long-established names is deeply encouraging. It tells me that drivers value a straightforward service that respects their time and helps them make a better decision.
Turning Growth Into Better Savings
The next step is to make the growing audience work harder for Fuel Finder UK members.
I am approaching relevant motoring partners to secure exclusive discounts that members cannot simply find elsewhere. The aim is not to fill the site with ordinary affiliate links or chase the highest possible commission.
I would rather accept less commission if it allows a partner to give members a better saving.
Fuel is only one part of the cost of driving. Tyres, servicing, breakdown cover, replacement parts and vehicle checks all add up. If Fuel Finder UK can use its growing reach to reduce some of those costs too, the site becomes much more valuable to the people using it.
That is where I want this growth to lead.
Thank You
If you have searched for fuel prices, reported a problem, suggested a station or shared Fuel Finder UK with somebody else, thank you.
You helped an independent idea reach a level I never expected after only seven months.
There is still a great deal I want to improve, but the purpose will stay the same: give drivers clearer information, more control and a better chance of keeping money in their own pockets.
Nearly four million page views is an incredible milestone.
Helping drivers pay less is the reason it matters.

A Note About the Figures
Cloudflare edge analytics recorded 3,884,092 page views between 1 and 31 July 2026. Edge analytics can include automated traffic, while browser-based analytics can undercount visitors using privacy tools or ad blockers. Similarweb independently estimated 4.087 million page views. These figures are presented as an indication of the site's scale rather than an exact count of individual people.
