I'm inviting Android users to join a new closed test of the Fuel Finder app. I need people to try it on ordinary journeys, tell me where it falls short and help get it ready for a wider release. New testers and people who helped with the earlier round are welcome.
If you have an Android phone with Google Play, register for the new Fuel Finder Android closed test. You do not need Android Auto to take part.
Earlier testers need to join this round separately
Signing up on the website, being added to a tester list or installing an earlier version does not automatically enrol you in this closed test. You must accept the Google Play invitation for this round. If you registered before, use your existing Fuel Finder account and check your saved details.
If you are currently in the internal test, leave it before accepting the closed-test invitation. Google explains this in its guidance on joining testing tracks.
How to join
- Sign in or create a verified Fuel Finder account on the Android test registration page. Enter the exact Google Account email used by the Play Store on your phone.
- I will add that address to the closed-test access list and email your invitation. Look out for that invitation after the website registration confirmation.
- Open the invitation using the same Google Account, accept the closed test in Google Play, then install the app. Receiving an email alone does not complete the opt-in.
- Keep the app installed, remain opted in for at least 14 consecutive days and use it regularly. Try the features that fit your journeys and send me useful feedback.
The 14-day period starts with your Google Play opt-in, rather than your website registration. This continuous participation is part of Google Play's closed-testing requirements.

What you can try
The app includes nearby fuel searches, maps and station details, plus a home-screen widget for checking fuel information in your chosen area. In a compatible car, Android Auto supports station discovery by cheapest, nearest and best value. It can use your vehicle's fuel type and remaining range when suggesting stops. Feedback on the phone app and widget is useful even without Android Auto.
A year of Pro for eligible testers
Eligible testers receive 12 months of Fuel Finder Pro free once participation is confirmed, with no payment card required. There is one reward per tester across all testing rounds, so joining again does not add another free year.
If you already pay for Pro, your reward waits until that paid access ends. Registration does not cancel your subscription or change renewal. Contact me to arrange the dates, and turn off renewal with your billing provider if you want to use the free year next.
