Common Questions
What is Fuel Finder UK? ▾
Fuel Finder UK helps you compare live fuel prices across thousands of UK stations so you can find cheaper fuel nearby without installing an app.
I run an independent forecourt. Can I submit my station prices directly? ▾
Yes. Fuel Finder has a dedicated forecourt fuel price submission page for station managers and forecourt owners. It is free to use, designed mainly for independent stations and smaller operators, and lets approved users keep Fuel Finder and GOV.UK submissions in the same workflow.
Where do prices come from? ▾
Prices are sourced from the UK Government open fuel-price data feed, and we also accept community price reports to fill gaps and improve freshness.
How often are prices updated? ▾
Updates land throughout the day as suppliers publish new data. Community reports can appear sooner when users submit them.
Do I need an account? ▾
You can browse and compare prices without an account. If you want to report prices, set alerts, or plan routes, you will need to sign in.
What fuel types are supported? ▾
Petrol, diesel, and premium variants are supported. Amenities like LPG, AdBlue, car wash, toilets, and air are available as filters.
How does estimated trip and fill-up cost work? ▾
Fuel Finder can estimate the real-world cost of choosing a station by combining the expected fill-up cost with the fuel needed to drive there. This helps you judge whether a slightly cheaper station farther away is actually better value.
What are the free route-planning limits? ▾
Free accounts can plan a limited number of routes (currently 3 per day and 18 per week). Pro increases those limits and unlocks saved and multi-stop routes.
What are price alerts and how many do I get? ▾
Alerts notify you when a station price drops below a target. Free accounts get a small number of alerts. Pro increases the limit and adds instant price-drop alerts plus push notifications.
What is My Garage? ▾
My Garage lets Pro members save multiple vehicle presets (up to 10) so route planning and savings estimates use the right MPG and tank size.
How does the live watchlist work? ▾
Anyone can save favourite stations. Pro adds a live watchlist view that brings those saved stations together with current nearby prices when you search.
Can I report prices or rate stations? ▾
Yes. Sign in to submit price reports, issue reports, and station ratings. Verified reports earn points and help improve data quality.
Do you track my location? ▾
Location access is optional and used when you actively search for nearby stations or plan a route. Fuel Finder UK does not perform background location tracking, although search-related coordinates may be processed and logged as described in the Privacy Policy. You can search by postcode or town instead.
Do I need to install an app? ▾
No. Fuel Finder runs in your browser. If you want faster access, you can add it to your home screen from the Settings panel.
